This policy applies to TouchControl OBP, operated by Odd Bear Productions Ltd (registered in Scotland, company number SC906219), trading as Odd Bear Productions. Privacy enquiries: support@oddbear.co.uk.

What TouchControl does

TouchControl lets you create, record, review and replay user-defined screen gestures using local profiles and floating controls. It is an Android automation utility, not a disability-focused accessibility tool.

Accessibility access and screen information

After an affirmative in-app disclosure and your activation of the Android Accessibility Service, TouchControl can dispatch touches and gestures you create, display floating controls, observe changes to the foreground app's package name for optional associated-app behaviour, and use a Volume Down key action as an emergency stop. The service configuration has canRetrieveWindowContent=false; it is not configured to retrieve window-content trees or read text displayed by other apps.

The service declares screenshot capture and key-event filtering capabilities. A screenshot is captured only when you request Capture Current Screen in the supported editing flow; the captured image may contain sensitive on-screen material and is saved as a local editor image. Recording of touch inputs occurs through the user-enabled recording layer. Generated touches can affect third-party apps as if you had performed them manually. You can switch off Accessibility for TouchControl in Android Settings.

Data stored on your device

• Profiles and sequences: names, touch coordinates, paths, timing, delays, chosen actions and local settings.
• App association: selected target/associated app package names and preferences; the app may observe the current foreground package to apply your rules.
• Screenshot guides: images selected through an Android document picker or captured at your request, stored as app-private local JPEG guides; they may include confidential screen content.
• Floating positions and entitlement: UI preferences, local trial information and Google Play purchase/restore status.

TouchControl does not perform OCR or retrieve screen-text trees. It has no OBP user-account service, no OBP app-data server, no advertising SDK and no OBP analytics endpoint.

Exports and third-party apps

When you explicitly export a profile, its data is sent to the Android document provider or location you select. That provider may be a cloud service and may process the exported data under its own terms. The JSON profile export contains screenshot-reference metadata, not the screenshot JPEG bytes. If you separately share images or information outside TouchControl, that sharing is under your control. Automated interactions with another app are subject to that app's own privacy terms.

Google Play Billing and network use

The app requests internet access for Google Play Billing. Google handles payment, purchase verification and restoration under Google's privacy policy; TouchControl uses signed purchase state and locally cached entitlement. It does not receive your payment card details. The Billing SDK and dependencies may transmit purchase-service and technical diagnostic information to Google; Google describes its own handling in its privacy policy. TouchControl does not upload profiles, touch recordings, screenshots or package names to OBP.

Permissions, security and storage

TouchControl uses an Android Accessibility Service and may request notification permission. It uses internet, network state and billing permissions for Google Play purchases. It does not request location, camera, contacts, microphone, broad media-storage or all-apps inventory access. Android automatic application backup is disabled. App-private data can be edited/deleted in the app where supported or removed by clearing app storage/uninstalling. Exports already saved in other locations must be deleted separately; Google retains its own transaction records.

Support and your rights

If you contact support, we process your email address and the information you voluntarily provide to answer your request. Avoid including screenshots showing secrets, payment information or third-party private content. Contact support@oddbear.co.uk about access, correction or deletion of personal information under our control; applicable UK privacy rights and legal exceptions apply. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. TouchControl does not use a separate OBP licensing backend.

Children and changes

TouchControl is a general-purpose automation tool, not specifically designed for children. We update this policy when app releases change services, permissions or data handling.
